Translating host-specifcity test results into the real world: The need to harmonize the yin and yang of current testing procedures

Abstract

This paper will examine host-specificity testing from this perspective; in particular, re-examining what plants need to be tested, how this testing should be done, and how the data should be interpreted to translate test results into the real world. In doing so, it will consider what researchers need to do to best resolve this tension and address the balance between safety and efficacy.
