Abstract
The aim of the study is to propose a legal framework conducive to biosecurity in Wallis and Futuna, reinvesting pre-existing provisions by fleshing them out and reinforcing them. This responds to a context in which the texts relating to biosecurity in Wallis and Futuna were scattered, heterogeneous and partly obsolete. The challenges of biosafety call for a comprehensive, coherent and up-to-date body of legislation. International and regional law, in particular the 2007 Port Moresby guidelines, provide food for thought in this area. To achieve this proposal, we carried out: (i) interviews, (ii) bibliographical analyses and syntheses of doctrine, comparative law, regional law, international law and legislative proposals, and (iii) bibliographical analyses, proposals for lists and technical sheets.
