Abstract
The implementation of the PROTEGE project on the theme of IAS in the Taputapuatea Cultural Landscape cannot be guaranteed without support in terms of awareness-raising and communication. This will enable the local population to take greater ownership of the management and restoration of the UNESCO site, and will also enable local players to act more effectively on this issue and to change practices in the short, medium and long term in order to guarantee the integrity of the property and the renewal of the UNESCO label. The awareness-raising mission will inform local players about IAS in general and their associated control/eradication methods, as well as about PPVs and their conservation and restoration. It will involve information and knowledge-building, as well as educational and entertaining activities, including field visits and workshops. The awareness-raising plan places target audiences at the heart of its strategy, with associated objectives and awareness-raising messages, resources and tools/supports that are appropriate and adapted to target audiences.
